Downtown LA buildings are different
Downtown is mostly dense, vertical housing and business space. In the Historic Core, the Fashion District and the Arts District, many early 1900s office buildings, banks and warehouses have been converted into lofts, especially since the city’s 1999 Adaptive Reuse Ordinance. Typical Downtown losses
- Water that crosses floors. In a tower or loft building, one overflowing tub, failed dishwasher hose or broken pipe can affect several units and the common hallways below. Tracing where the water went, and whose unit it started in, matters for both the HOA’s master policy and each owner’s policy.
